Bio

Ja'Lisa Bri'Anna Hemmingway (born November 29, 1996), better known by her stage name Fe Chi (pronounced "fay shy"), is an American music recording artist, songwriter, record producer, actress, CEO/Founder of Kapital Status Entertainment and cousin of the late Rick James. Born on the southside of Chicago, Illinois, Fe became interested in rap music at age 4, growing up in a household filled with R. Kelly music from her mom & NWA from her father. Despite her liking of music, it was always acting that Fe was interested in pursuing a career in. Watching shows like "Degrassi", Drake & Josh, and "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" was motivation enough for her. However, after the murder of her father in 2007, she turned to music. It wasn't until she was 12 that Fe began taking music seriously. Under the influence of artists such as 50 Cent, Soulja Boy, Eve, Keys and Drake, she bought her first mic and began posting her music on YouTube as well as Myspace and Soundclick. This was also around the time that she began working with her elementary school classmate, Darion "Encore" Fuller. After obtaining positive feedback along with critism, she became determined to improve her skills, obtain her own style of music and increase her desire to make it in the music industry. Fe Chi made a real break-through in 2011 with her first single ever, "Jerk!". What started out as just another "internet song" turned into an "iTunes" single. After being given feedback on the song, Fe then shot a low-budget video for it. The song had a decent amount of fame locally, but the video had become viewed numerous times online. The song was even given airplay on the popular online website, "Jango" as well as posted by various YouTube accounts by fans who had taken interest. Fe Chi then dropped yet another single on iTunes later that year entitled "Internet". In early 2012, Fe signed with Mad Tactics Management, which was also home to Encore, but was soon released after her televised interview. In early 2013, Fe was granted the opportunity to stand behind President Barack Obama on national tv as his made his speech at Hyde Park Academy. On October 26th, Fe Chi signed with Chicago management team, Mechanical Beats Production. Her new single "Trendy" will be released January 9th!
